The University of Chicago Genetic Services Laboratories offers several exome tests. Whole exome sequencing, in which a subset of genes are selected for analysis based on a patient’s specific clinical findings, is available. We also offer testing for certain disorders, listed below, performed on an exome platform. These tests include analysis of pre-selected genes related to the disorder.
Exome sequencing analyzes the protein-coding regions of genes. Exome sequencing is useful for individuals with complex medical histories or who have previously had negative genetic testing.
