Clinical Molecular Fellow

I completed my graduate studies in Canada, where I did my PhD studying variant fusions in acute leukemia at the University of Toronto. My interest in clinical diagnostics expanded through the course of my post-doctoral work at the Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory in the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, where I led the analytical validation and implementation process for a targeted next generation sequencing panel for hematological malignancies, and contributed to designing a somatic variant classification system directed at interpreting somatic variant profiles. In 2017, I started at the University of Chicago to pursue the ABMGG Laboratory Genetics and Genomics training program. My interest is in the application of cytogenetic and molecular techniques to understand the genetic basis of hereditary and acquired disease, and my career goals are focused on providing expertise in the areas of genetic and genomic diagnostics in a health-care setting.
