Microcephaly is a condition in which the size of the head, measured by the occipito-frontal circumference (OFC), is significantly smaller than average for the person's age and sex. An OFC of greater than two standard deviations below the mean is often used as a definition of microcephaly in clinical practice. Individuals with microcephaly may present with mild to severe intellectual disability and other neurological features.

The Microcephaly Panel includes sequence and deletion/duplication analysis of over 130 genes associated with syndromic and non-syndromic forms of microcephaly.
